Peter Cook

Born in Grantham, Lincolnshire in 1967, Cook trained and worked as an architectural draughtsman before embarking on a photographic career. Starting at a London press agency he later worked in fashion photography in Italy before devoting his creative practice to architectural subjects.

Over the years, Peter has honed his technical skills in 19th and 20th Century photographic printing processes. He combines these with 21st century techniques, blending the chemical and digital lends his images a sense of timelessness.

Torrii Gates

Peter M Cooks Torrii Gates series forms an interesting striking contrast to his Brutalist Tokyo photos. His camera uniquely captures the serene beauty, cultural depth, and striking placement in natural or spiritual settings ofย  the traditional gateways that mark the entrance to Shinto shrines in Japan.
