Spatial Concept

‘Spatial Concept’ is a series of black and white photographs inspired by Lucio Fontana’s single cut paintings on monochrome canvases titled, ‘Concetto Spaziale, Attesa’ (1964–1965) and Barnett Newman’s ‘Onement I’ (1948) The series explores the transformative power of the vertical line as both a structural and symbolic element – hand printed as gelatin-silver prints.
